Your new house has a pre-existing home security system
Many times after you purchase a home, you’ll notice that the old owners didn’t take a home security system. All the components work, are installed in the best places, and are ready to go. In this instance, all you may have to do is to call and set up a new contract. A Vivint expert will still come to your home to make sure there are no usability problems, and they could offer suggestions on where you should replace bad outdated components. It's a quick appointment, and you can get your 24/7 monitoring set up without having a bill for any new devices -- unless you make additions.
The outgoing owners can transfer an existing Vivint contract to your family for a nominal transfer fee to make the process a snap. If the outgoing residents are moving to a condo or smaller home, you keeping the security contract may be a part of the sale.
You are looking to move and bring your existing components with you
You may want to take your favorite Vivint system with you to a new house when you move. That’s pretty easy to accomplish, as modern smart devices are plug and play. You can uninstall each component by yourself or use a Vivint installer to come and take care of everything. Then a pro will put in the same components -- and any new things you need -- in your new home. And your home security contract will keep the same.
